So i entered the Lyrics Born remix contest with one day to finish...

I didn't know about it until one day was left, I wasn't trying to procrastinate...

What happened...?

I got 3rd place, not bad for a nights work.

from http://www.lyricsborn.com/

1st honorable mention goes to the 4am remix. I'm bout to get real "Lil' Mama" from America's Best Dance Crew here with my praise, but this is it.... I was into this one because it felt as though a lot of thought went into the arrangement, and the producer was really listening to the lyrics. It had the JVC-force style drums. It had the hot intro with the "Just Rhymin' With Biz" "Fonkay!" sample looped and throughout. It had the original BDP quote looped. It had "Funky Drummer" looped in the outro. Also, anybody that's worked with me knows I'm a sucker for auto-panning, and this sh!t was auto-panning like a mug. I was also feeling the "I'm Serious" sample they threw in up under my Steady B quote. Clever.

I'm honored to have a dope emcee sit and listen to my work so thoroughly

and now you can too...

Questions about divatude, hustlemania and radio ga-ga...

Has anybody noticed that the new Beyonce single has the same beat as Lil Wayne's "A Milli"?
"Diva":

"A Milli":

...and when did the definition on DIVA become: "The female version of a hustla"?

Maybe I'm from a different era, maybe it's because my uncle was fabulous but this is what I was raised to see as a diva:

....and this is what pop culture refers to as a hustla:

(notice the hand gesture)
there's a difference...

diva:
hustla:

diva:
hustla:

divas:

hustla:
both:

Let's not get them confused or pin them down to male or female, a diva is a diva and a hustla is a hustla and you can be either, both or neither at any given time, but they are not the male female version of each other.

Now...

What is this futuristic nightmare that we call Lady GaGa?
(A diva protrays power and style, neither of which are symbolized by leaving your mouth hanging open.)
Is this what Bowman was supposed to meet at the end of his journey into the monolith?

(I read... WHAT!)

We can thank Akon for this stroke of marketing genius:

As well as for diva in training Colby O'Donnis (long live the Mickey Mouse club for its neverending stable of child star thouroghbreds).

(Bless you Akon, may your auto-tune never malfunction and may the public always tell the difference between you and T-Pain, or as I call him: James Tiberius Pain, or Mr. T-Pain, or Lipton T-Pain).

I thought Ga Ga was what baby's say... wait didn't we already addressed this over 20 years ago:
